Job Costing: Know Your Labor Costs

When time is tracked per job, you know exactly how many hours each job took. Multiply hours by rate, you know your labor cost. Compare to what you charged. Know your margins.

Example: Kitchen renovation took 40 hours total. Labor rate is $50/hour. Labor cost = $2,000. You charged $3,500 for labor. Margin = $1,500 profit on labor alone.
