How to Use It

1. Set Your Primary Country

Settings → Business → Country

Select your main operating location. This sets:

Default currency
Tax rate
Business number format
Date/time format

2. Override Per-Job (Optional)

When creating a quote or invoice, select a different currency if needed:

Quote → Currency dropdown → Select

3. Everything Else is Automatic

That’s it. Invoices, quotes, reports - all formatted correctly.

Technical Details (For the Curious)

How We Handle Exchange Rates

We don’t.

Why? Because contractors don’t need real-time forex trading. You invoice in the currency you want to be paid in.

If you’re a Kiwi contractor invoicing an Australian client in AUD, you decide the AUD amount. No auto-conversion means no surprise rate changes between quote and payment.

Tax Rate Storage

Tax rates are stored per-business, not globally. This allows for:

Different GST rates per country (10% AU, 15% NZ)
Custom rates for special cases

Data Migration

Existing users: Your data is safe. We automatically detected your country from your IP during registration and set appropriate defaults.
